The European Food Safety Association (EFSA) approved the authorization for a new health claim, relating the consumption of non-digestible carbs with the reduction of the post-pandrial glycemic response.

The BENEO-Orafti group was one of the process subscriptors, along with other European manufacturers.

EFSA’s scientific panel proposed the following for the claim:
“the consumption of food/drinks that contain non-digestible carbs instead of sugars induces a less significant rise of the blood glucose after meals, comparing with food/drinks that contain sugars”.
